After working with Raphael and Emily for their destination pre wedding photography in the Yorkshire Dales, Edinburgh, Peak District and London I was honoured to be asked to fly over to Hong Kong to photograph their amazing wedding day at the Beas River Jockey Club in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong weddings are always incredible and full of colour, energy and lots of fun and this wedding was really off the scale! The day began at the brides parents house where the groom and his entourage must complete some fun (and mildly humiliating) games to gain access to the bride. These are always filled with fun and I love seeing just how far the bridesmaids are going to make the groom and groomsmen go to prove his love for the bride. There was blindfolded cake feeding, iced bath dexterity games and some very questionable fancy dress dancing.
Traditional Chinese tea ceremonies at the brides parents home and grooms parents home was followed by the wedding reception which was quite unique for a Hong Kong wedding. The outdoor reception took place at the Hong Kong Jockey Club at the stunning Beas River Country Club. The location was perfect for a wedding and we were able to take some wedding photographs with ponies which was a great experience.
The highlight of the evening was when Raphael took to the stage to sing Emily one of her favourite songs and there was hardly a dry eye in sight. Here are some images from this Hong Kong wedding.
