Destination Indian Wedding at Pine Cliffs Resort Portugal
Pine Cliffs Resort Destination Indian Wedding Photography in Portugal
Pine Cliffs resort in Albufeira, Portugal, is an incredible wedding venue in the Algarve and was the perfect location for Kunal and Priya's stunning destination wedding. The wedding was made up of a fantastic collection of Hindu events that lasted over three days. Kunal and Priya are the most amazing couple, and I had so much fun telling their destination wedding story in this beautiful setting.
Located on dramatic red cliffs overlooking the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the venue is set within the stunningly beautiful 72-hectare Pine Cliffs Resort. The venue's grounds offer lush, peaceful gardens, sandy beaches, and stunning sea views, and the cliff-top setting is perfect for romantic wedding ceremonies and unique receptions.
The wedding events kicked off with a fun-filled Mehndi, Sangeet and welcome party in the courtyard of Lemon Square in Pine Cliffs. This was a great way to begin the celebrations with food, Mehndi, dancing and drinks as guests enjoyed a warm Portuguese evening in this beautiful destination.
The following day, the couple had their pooja and pithi ceremonies before the afternoon Hindu wedding ceremony on the cliff top and one of the most stunning ceremony views I have ever seen. Kunal and Priya had planned everything perfectly and worked closely with the lovely Catarina from Passage to India to create a gorgeous ceremony. Priti at PKB London provided hair styling and makeup, and Priya looked stunning.
Kunal's Bharat entrance took place along the stunning tree-lined walkway along the cliff-top on the resort grounds and was full of energy and dancing despite the heat. Hemang Bhatt had flown over from London and always delivers memorable ceremonies, so it was a pleasure to work with him again as well at the talented Zacarias from Happy Together Films.
The ceremony finished just before sunset, which allowed us to head down to the beach for some sunset wedding photographs with the red cliffs and sea as a beautiful backdrop for the couple's wedding portraits and sunset photographs, followed by a happy vidaai farewell.
The conclusion to this multi-day Hindu wedding was a stunning cliff-top reception the following evening, a spectacular event with sunset views over the Atlantic. The evening was filled with food, speeches and dancing. Guest partied until the early hours, celebrating this special couple and their marriage.
Kunal and Priya were such a joy to work with, and it was obvious to see how much love there was for them from friends and family. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them and their families and an honour to be invited to Portugal to tell this lovely wedding story.

Planning Your Portuguese Destination Wedding: Tips and Advice
Hire a Local Wedding Planner. Engaging a professional wedding planner with experience in organizing destination weddings in Portugal will prove invaluable. They can guide you through local customs, assist you in finding the ideal venue, and ensure every detail of your special day is impeccably managed.
Research Legal Requirements. Portugal has specific legal requirements for foreign couples wanting to get married in the country. Ensure you are well informed about these requirements, and consult with your wedding planner or the Portuguese consulate in your home country to make sure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Consider the Climate. Portugal boasts a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The ideal time to schedule your wedding is between April and October, when the weather is most favorable. Bear in mind that July and August are peak tourist months, so securing venues and accommodations early is crucial.
Embrace Local Traditions. To add an authentic touch to your wedding, consider incorporating Portuguese customs and traditions. You could hire a traditional Fado group for music or offer local wines and cheeses as part of your celebration.
Take Advantage of Portugal's Natural Beauty. Portugal's stunning beaches, vineyards, and scenic landscapes are worthy of exploration. Make the most of these by incorporating them into your wedding celebration. Consider taking pre-wedding photos at a local beach or hosting a post-wedding brunch at a nearby vineyard. I also recommend scheduling a session either a day before or after the wedding to capture photos at locations that might not be possible on the wedding day itself.
