This amazing Santa Barbara Courthouse and Private Estate Wedding was filled with twists and tuns in the build up to the wedding but ended up being one of the most incredible days ever!

What would you do if a hurricane ripped through the paradise island that you had booked your dream wedding on just a couple of weeks before the big day? That's exactly what happened to this couple and despite the Island of Cabo St Lucas in Mexico being completely shut down, Art and Olivia were the perfect couple to turn this disaster around and into something that left me blown away.

This Santa Barbara wedding in sunny California was one of the most incredible weddings that I have ever photographed and I was literally stunned at how this came together in the face of such adversity. To rearrange everything about your wedding in just a week is tough enough, but to move the whole wedding to another country altogether in such a short space of time was a miracle.

All of the arrangements were made, flights were booked, timelines and menus had been planned and I was all set to fly out to Mexico to capture this story when Olivia contacted me to tell me the terrible news that one of the largest hurricanes ever to hit the Island had left so much damage that the Island was completely shut down with the airport and hotels closed and the wedding on this paradise island cancelled.

In the space of just a week, Olivia had managed to turn the whole situation around and the wedding was back on track and looking better than ever. She had managed to secure the most incredible estate in Santa Barbara for her outdoor wedding and rearrange everything in just a few days.

I flew out to Santa Barbara and visited the estate the day before the wedding and with all of the last minute changes I expected scenes of utter chaos but I walked through the gates to find Olivia and her family all chilling in the pool with cocktails and it's this easy going attitude that made the whole thing work.

I was lucky enough to have met Olivia and her family when I had photographed Olivia's sister's destination engagement photography in Venice so I knew just how amazing they all were. I can't thank them enough for how welcoming they all were to me and they really made this one of the most amazing weddings I have ever captured.

The day began with a first look at the stunning Santa Barbara Courthouse before heading to the most incredible private estate for the ceremony and reception which ended with an unbelievable reception filled with laughs, tears and everyone in the pool!
