East Wintergarden Hindu Wedding in Canary Wharf
Hindu Wedding Photography at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf
Vishal and Deepa’s Indian Hindu wedding and reception was an incredible day that took place at East Wintergarden in London’s Canary Wharf and followed their romantic civil wedding ceremony at Hever Castle.
The day began with Vishal’s Hindu Baraat which is one of the most energetic and fun traditions of a Hindu marriage and consists of the grooms procession where he is led to the venue by friends and family. Vishal had chosen to do this by horse and it was incredible to see a sea of colour and dancing in the centre of Canary Wharf.
The Hindu ceremony itself is always so colourful emotional and Deepa’s entrance was certainly both of these. Once on the Mandap, the ceremony continued with the exchange of garlands and many other Hindu rituals including walking round the fire and the 7 steps or vows that provide the foundation of Indian marriages.
After the ceremony we spent a little bit of time capturing some of the couples photographs around Canary Wharf before heading back to the Mandap for the Koda Kodi game where the couple fish for the ring as well as the emotional Vidai which is the bride’s goodbye to her family. The couple then retreated to their Canary Wharf hotel to get prepared for the evening wedding reception at the East Wintergarden.
The Indian wedding reception at Canary Wharf was just as colourful and energetic as the Baraat and there was a stunning first dance by the couple and performances from the talented Ashanti strings as well as some of the couples relatives. This was followed by lots of dancing until the early hours and was the perfect way to end this amazing Indian wedding.
