Hindu Mehndi and Sangeet Photography in Dubai

Nimesh and Rakhee's destination Mehndi and Sangeet in Dubai took place in the most amazing desert location and included camels, 4x4 jeeps and the most incredible dancing!

After an unbelievable first few days in Dubai that included a stunning destination pre wedding photography shoot in the Dubai Desert, there was no chance that this fun-filled wedding was going to drop the pace.

The evening before the main Indian wedding at the Palm Sofitel in Dubai was just as adventurous and guests met in the private library of the Sofitel Hotel and Resort in Palm Jumeirah before being whisked away by private transportation into the Dubai desert.

We watched an amazing sunset as we travelled further out of the city centre and gradually the city lights disappeared into the distance and the landscape became more open as we arrived close to our desert location. As the last remains of the sun disappeared below the horizon we were transferred into 4x4 jeeps for the last stage of the journey that took us deep into the desert dunes before arriving at our own private bedouin camp.

Guests were greeted in true Arabian style and the setup for the camp was incredible. This included Bedouin men serving Arabic coffee and dates, camel rides, sheesha-smoking and henna painting. As the bridal mehndi began, guests were treated to a whole evening of entertainment in the desert which included a Tanura dance show, belly dancing and mehfil singing. This was followed by the sangeet and some incredible performances by family members before DJ H and Kudos Music took over and the party really got started.

The whole event was put together by the talented Karishma Manwani and was executed perfectly. Here are a few images from this Dubai desert destination Mehndi and Sangeet in the United Arab Emirates. You can check out the civil wedding ceremony at Newland Manor here.

Tips for Getting Married in Dubai

  1. Research Dubai's marriage laws and requirements: Before planning a destination wedding in Dubai, it's essential to familiarize yourself with the local marriage laws and requirements. Non-resident couples are advised to consult their home country's embassy or consulate in the UAE for specific guidance on obtaining a marriage license.

  2. Plan your wedding during Dubai's cooler months: The weather in Dubai can be sweltering during the summer months, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F (38°C). To ensure a comfortable outdoor wedding experience, consider planning your wedding between November and March, when the weather is more pleasant and mild.

  3. Hire a destination wedding planner: A destination wedding planner with experience in organizing destination weddings in Dubai can help navigate cultural nuances and manage the logistics of your event. They can assist with vendor selection, venue setup, and other essential aspects of your wedding, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience.

  4. Factor in the cultural sensitivities: Dubai is a diverse and multicultural city, but it's essential to respect the local customs and traditions. For example, during the holy month of Ramadan, hosting a wedding can be challenging due to strict regulations on food and drink consumption. Additionally, modest attire is preferred for public events, so consider this when planning your wedding attire and guest dress code.

  5. Choose vendors carefully: Take the time to research and select reputable vendors for your wedding, such as photographers, makeup artists, and florists as it is crucial to work with professionals who understand your vision and can deliver exceptional service.

  6. Plan activities for your guests: Destination weddings often span several days, so plan activities for your guests to enjoy during their stay in Dubai. Popular options include desert safaris, dune bashing, sightseeing tours, and visits to attractions like the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, or the Palm Jumeirah.

  7. Create a wedding website: This helps to keep guests informed about your wedding plans and provide essential information about Dubai, A wedding website can include information on accommodations, transportation, local attractions, and a detailed itinerary of wedding events.

  8. Send invitations early: Destination weddings require additional planning for guests, so send out save-the-date cards and formal invitations well in advance. This allows guests to make travel arrangements, secure accommodations, and ensure they can attend your special day.

  9. Consider your guests' needs: When planning your wedding, consider the needs of your guests, particularly when it comes to accommodations, transportation, and other requirements. Make sure to choose a venue that caters to various dietary preferences, and arrange transportation to and from the venue to improve your guests overall experience and memories from your wedding events.

  10. Be prepared for last-minute changes: Destination weddings can sometimes face unexpected challenges, such as inclement weather or travel delays. Be prepared to be flexible and adapt to any last-minute changes that may arise.

By taking a little time and effort with planning, you can ensure a memorable and stress-free destination wedding in Dubai. The city's luxurious venues, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural experiences make it a fantastic choice for creating unforgettable memories with your friends and families.
