Alkaff Mansion Wedding Photography in Singapore | Jeremy and Angie

Singapore is one of my favourite places in the world so when Angie emailed me to ask if I would fly over to Singapore to photograph her wedding at the Alkaff Mansion I was excited! I had been lucky enough to be contacted by Angie when she was staying in London for work to photograph her and Jeremy for a central London pre wedding shoot. Jeremy had flow over from Singapore to London and we had an amazingly fun day capturing their engagement in London. A few months later, Angie had returned back to Singapore and got in touch to say that she had set a date for the wedding and was I available?

Nine months later I found myself in Singapore and I was about to experience one of the most amazing weddings that I have been lucky enough to photograph with two of the most incredible people who I am lucky enough to now consider friends. As fun as I am, not many couples would want to spend the day after the wedding with their wedding photographer but Jeremy and Angie insisted on taking me out to dinner to sample some amazing local food on the waterfront and it was the perfect end to an unforgettable adventure.

Weddings in Singapore take a slightly different format to those in the UK and once the bride has finished her preparations, the groom will arrive for the 'gatecrashing' custom. The custom dictates that the bridesmaids will set a number of humiliating challenges for the groom to complete before being allowed access to the bide. The tea ceremonies at both the bride and grooms parents house follows the gatecrashing and then the preparations began for the main event.

The wedding itself took place at the luxurious Alkaff Mansion in Telok Blangah Hill Park which is one of the most stunning venues I have visited. The panoramic views and unique setting makes this one of the best wedding venues in Singapore.
